Suchovršice (German Saugwitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located two kilometers northwest of Úpice and belongs to the Okres Trutnov .
geography
Suchovršice extends south of the Habicht Mountains in the valley of the Úpa , into which the Karbanka and Zbylovka streams flow in the village. The Klůček (495 m) rises to the north. The Jaroměř – Lubawka railway runs at the northern end of the village .
Neighboring towns are Sedmidomí and Končiny in the north, Velké Svatoňovice in the northeast, Kvíčala in the east, Úpice in the southeast, Podrač and Radeč in the south, Studenec in the southwest, Rubínovice and Starý Rokytník in the west and Luční Domky, Adamov and Bohuslavice in the northwest.
history
The village Suchowrssicze was first mentioned in writing in 1545 in the Náchod registers . In 1585 the place was called Sauchowitz and 1595 as Sauchwitz . In 1834, Saugwitz / Suchowrssic consisted of 91 houses with 544 inhabitants. There was a three-speed mill with a board saw in the village. The Catholic parish was Úpice. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village remained subject to the Nachod rule.
From 1850, Saugwitz / Suchovršice formed a municipality in the Neustadt an der Mettau district . In 1874 the community was detached from the judicial district of Nachod and assigned to the new judicial district of Úpice. Since 1877 the village has belonged to the Trautenau district . After the Munich Agreement, Suchovršice remained with Czechoslovakia in 1938 and was assigned to the Nachod district until 1945 . After the end of the Second World War the village came back to Okres Trutnov. At the beginning of 1981 Suchovršice was incorporated into Úpice. Since September 1st, 1990 Suchovršice has again formed its own municipality.
