history

Since the early 13th century there was a castle of the Teutonic Knights on Mount Bradlo , which became extinct around 1325. The first written mention of Mostek comes from 1545, when the owner of the place was Katharina von Popovice. In the berní rula 1654 only six cottagers are recorded for Mostek , five of which were subordinate to the Nové Zámky rule and one to the Bílé Poličany estate.

Until the end of the patrimonial rule in 1848, Mostek belonged to the united rule Hostinné -Nové Zámky and then became part of the Anseith parish, while Vordermastig and Hintermastig formed the parish Kingdom IV / Království IV. Oberdöberney was united with Hegerbusch to form the municipality of Kingdom II / Království II. In 1858 the railway between Pardubitz and Reichenberg was built , at which a train station was set up in Mastig, which opened up the whole area to Arnau by 1870 . In 1885, Adolf Mandl founded a cotton mill, and in 1900 a steam saw went into operation. In 1902 the place had 1,174 inhabitants, almost all of whom belonged to the German ethnic group. In 1925, Mastig broke away from Anseith, which had significantly fewer inhabitants, and became an independent municipality, to which Vorder- and Hintermastig were added. As a result, the community of Kingdom IV was dissolved.

In 1939 there were 1026 people in Mastig. After the Munich Agreement , the place was incorporated into the German Empire and became part of the Hohenelbe district . During the Second World War, two POW camps were set up in which Russians, British and French were interned. After the war, Mostek became part of the Okres Vrchlabí; the German residents were displaced up to 21 people. In 1946 Mostek had 920 inhabitants. On January 1, 1949, Mostek came to Okres Dvůr Králové nad Labem, which was dissolved again in 1960. Mostek was incorporated into the Okres Trutnov and in the same year Souvrať and Debrné were incorporated. In 1979 Horní Brusnice and Borovnice were added. The places Horní Brusnice, Borovnička and Borovnice broke up in 1990 and became independent.
