history

Havlovice belonged to the Vízmburk rule and was first mentioned in the years 1516-1518. Around this time, Peter von Dauba on Adersbach sold the Vízmburk estate with the associated villages to Jan Špetle from Janovice on Nachod. This incorporated the acquired territory of his rule Nachod , with which Havlovice remained connected until the abolition of patrimonial in 1849. This year Havlovice was slammed into the district administration Nové Město nad Metují . From 1855 to 1868 it belonged to the Nachod District , from 1868 to 1876 to the Nové Město nad Metují District, from 1876 to 1938 to the Trutnov District and from 1938 to 1945 again to the Nachod District. It has belonged to the Okres Trutnov since 1945.

The children of Havlovice were educated in changing accommodations from 1789. In 1797 a school house was built. In winter it was heated with wood that the owner of the Nachod estate, Peter von Biron , provided. A flood caused severe damage in 1897. A library was opened in 1921 and a poor house in 1922. Havlovice was electrified in 1924.

In 2007 Havlovice was named “Village of the Year in the Hradec Králové Region” and “Village of the Year in the Czech Republic”.
