Kohoutov (German Koken ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers northeast of Dvůr Králové nad Labem and belongs to the Okres Trutnov .

geography

The place extends in the valley of the Drahyně brook in the kingdom forest . In the north rises the Liščí hora (609 m) and in the northwest of the Kamenný vrch (579 m).

Neighboring towns are Hajnice in the north, Mravenčí Domky and Nesytá in the north-east, Vyhnánov, Běluň, Zákoutí, Sedlo and Harcov in the east, Kladruby in the south-east, Kašparova Hora, Choustníkovo Hradiště and Ferdinandov in the south, Rabiš Kohšov and Kocbeře in the north.

history

"Kokotowye" was first mentioned in 1415. The name of the place is derived from the Slavic word for cock . The medieval salt route from Bohemia to Silesia passed Kohoutov. A street village was created from an original single courtyard along the stream.

Neu Koken, which was founded later, was part of the community of Kingdom I from the middle of the 19th century.

No districts are designated for the municipality of Kohoutov. Kohoutov to include the settlements Kladruby ( Kladern ), Nový Kohoutov ( New Koken ) and Vyhnánov ( Wihnan ) and the monolayer Kašparova Hora ( Kaspar Berg ), Rabi ( Rabisch ) and Sedlo ( Sadel ).
