history

Bezděkov was probably laid out at the beginning of the 16th century, like Lhota down the valley. While Lhota belonged to Katzenstein Castle as an exclave , Bezděkov was subject to the Petersdorf estate and became part of the Adršpach dominion after the battle of the White Mountain .

In 1833 the village of Pößig , also called Bösig or Bezděkow , in the Königgrätzer Kreis , consisted of 27 houses in which 179 people lived. There was a chapel in the village. A community forest of 11 yoke 1233 square fathoms belonged to the village in the Habichtsgebirge. The village was parish after Qualisch , the school location was Welhotta . Until the middle of the 19th century, the village remained subject to the allodial rule Adersbach.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Bösig / Bezděkov 1849 a district of the municipality Welhotta in the judicial district Trutnov . In 1868 the village was assigned to the Trautenau district . Bösig broke away from Welhotta in the 1880s and formed its own community. In 1930 119 people lived in Bösig . After the Munich Agreement , the German-speaking village was added to the German Reich in autumn 1938 and belonged to the Trautenau district until 1945 . In 1939 the community had 104 inhabitants. After the end of the Second World War, Bezděkov came back to Czechoslovakia and the German population was expelled . In 1950, Bezděkov and Lhota were merged to form a municipality Lhota u Trutnova . The construction of the thermal power station Poříčí in 1957 had a decisive impact on the quality of life in Bezděkov and Lhota. Due to the prevailing westerly winds, the exhaust gases from the power station located behind the castle hill in the Aupa valley were piling up and the ash emissions were reduced in the valley of the Lhotecký potok and its tributary Bezděkovský potok down. On January 1, 1981, it was incorporated into Trutnov; Bezděkov did not receive a status as a district. Since the 1990s, the air quality in Lhota has improved thanks to the installation of modern exhaust filters in the Poříčí power station.
