Libeč (German Gabersdorf ) is a district of Trutnov in the Czech region of Královéhradecký kraj .

geography

Libeč is located about three kilometers north of Trutnov in the Libečský potok valley and can be reached via road 16 . To the north-east rises the Bolkův kopec ( Bolkenberg , 541 m nm), in the west the Zámecký vrch ( castle hill , 635 m nm) and to the northwest the Baba ( Hanselgipfel , 673 m nm). To the east of Libeč is the Mrtvé jezero dump .

Neighboring towns are Malý Křenov in the north, Zlatá Olešnice in the northeast, the desert Debrné and Petříkovice in the east, Lhota and Nové Voletiny in the southeast, Voletiny, Nové Dvory and Zelený Kopec in the south, Horní Staré Město in the southwest, Kalná Voda and Mladé Buky in the west and Antonínovo Údolí, Bystřice and Babí in the north-west.

The village was first mentioned in writing in 1260.

In 1833 the village Gabersdorf , located in the Königgrätzer Kreis on Schlesische Strasse, consisted of 69 houses in which 411 people lived. There was a school in the village, the public chapel of St. Johannes von Nepomuk, an official brewery and a two-speed mill. The parish was Trautenau . Until the middle of the 19th century the village remained subject to the Trautenau rulership.

After the abolition of patrimonial Gabersdorf formed a district of the municipality of Goldenöls in the judicial district of Trautenau from 1849 . In 1868 the village was assigned to the Trautenau district . On August 29, 1868, the state parliament of the Kingdom of Bohemia approved the constitution of the Gabersdorf community . In 1869 there were 450 people in Gabersdorf , compared to 472 in 1900. In 1920 Libeč was introduced as a Czech place name. In 1930 Gabersdorf had 738 inhabitants, in 1939 there were 672. After the Munich Agreement , Gabersdorf was added to the German Reich in 1938 and until 1945 belonged to the Trautenau district . From 1941 to 1945 there was a forced labor camp for Jewish women near Gabersdorf . In 1945 Gabersdorf came back to Czechoslovakia . The German residents were expropriated and expelled in 1945 . 1981 Libeč was incorporated into Trutnov, at the same time Debrné and Nové Voletiny-sever were reclassified from Voletiny to Libeč. In 1991 Libeč had 277 inhabitants. In 2001 the district consisted of 67 houses and had 296 inhabitants.

The district of Libeč consists of the basic settlement units Debrné ( Döberle ), Libeč ( Gabersdorf ) and Nové Voletiny-sever ( Neu Wolta-Nord ).

Libeč is divided into the cadastral districts of Debrné and Libeč.
