David Buttolph
James David Buttolph Jr. (born August 3, 1902 in New York City , † January 1, 1983 in Poway , California ) was an American composer .
Life
James David Buttolph Jr. studied music at the Juilliard School . He then moved to Germany and Austria in 1923 to study composition. He returned to the United States in 1927 and soon began working for NBC Radio. In 1933 Buttolph made his debut as a film composer with the comedy Mr. Skitch and the western Smoky . In his career, which lasted until 1963, he composed the music for over 300 television and film productions.
