Player career

The beginnings

Born in Mallorca , David Castedo began his career with his hometown club RCD Mallorca . There he played for four and a half years and rose with his team as second in the table in Spain's elite league in 1995/1996. There, too, David Castedo was able to assert himself before he was pushed to the sidelines the following year. Just two missions in the first half of the 97/98 season ensured that he went to the second division Hércules CF , where he was able to seamlessly build on the performances shown so far.

After a year-long stint with newly promoted CF Extremadura , he got the opportunity to return to Mallorca. But after only eight appearances in the entire 1999/2000 season, he finally left his old place of work to join the traditional Andalusian club Sevilla FC .

Sevilla FC

In his first season in Seville he became a regular player and rose with his team as the sovereign leader of the table. In the 2003/2004 season, Sevilla FC reached sixth place in the championship and was able to qualify for international business after ages. Since he was an undisputed regular player, he got the team's trust and was the third captain behind players like Javi Navarro . The following years were not only to be the greatest for Sevilla FC, but also for David Castedo. He was able to win the UEFA Cup twice and the Copa del Rey once and, on top of that, win the European Supercup 3-0 in the final in Monaco against the big favorites, FC Barcelona .

Due to strong competition as a left defender by Antonio Puerta and Ivica Dragutinović , David moved to UD Levante in the summer of 2007 . After relegation in 2008, he ended his career.
