David Correy

David Correy (* 8. October  1985  in  RecifePernambuco ) is a  Brazilian - American  R & B - singer .

life and career

Correy initially grew up in poor conditions in Recife. His underage mother, Luciene Lima, who was only 13 at the time, gave him up for adoption when he was almost two years old .

He was adopted by American parents and from then on lived in Riva, Maryland . He recognized his enthusiasm for music early on. His parents encouraged his passion and made it possible for him to play in a musical during his school days . Correy received a scholarship from Berklee College of Music in Boston .

Correy gained media attention in late 2012 when he was one of the finalists on the US music talent show The X Factor . He was promoted on the LA Reid television show .

Together with the singer Aloe Blacc and the Brazilian band Monobloco , Correy released the song The World is Ours in 2014 , which was named the official World Cup song for the 2014 World Cup .
