David Defiagbon (born June 12, 1970 in Sapele , Nigeria , † November 24, 2018 in Las Vegas , Nevada , United States ) was a Nigerian-Canadian heavyweight boxer.

amateur

In 1990 he won the Commonwealth Games in Auckland in the welterweight division. In 1991 he took part as a light middleweight at the World Cup in Sydney and was eliminated there in the quarterfinals against the eventual winner Juan Carlos Lemus .

In 1992, as a representative of Nigeria at the Olympic Games in Barcelona in the light middleweight division, he did not get beyond the first round, he lost a wafer-thin 7 to 8 against Raúl Márquez from the USA .

His participation in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta was more successful , where he won the silver medal. Against Juan Carlos Gómez he had no chance in January 2005 and went into the third knockout. After this fight, he ended his career.
