David Dundas

Lord David Paul Nicholas Dundas (born June 2, 1945 in Oxford , England ) is a British composer , pop musician and actor .

Life

David Dundas was born the second son of Lawrence Dundas, 3rd Marquess of Zetland . As the son of a marquess , he has been using the courtesy address "Lord" since 1961 . In his youth he trained as an actor and was briefly a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company . Between 1968 and 1975 he had guest roles in various British television series as well as in two feature films , including The Pill Was To Blame For Everything, starring David Niven and Deborah Kerr . In the mid-1970s, Dundas began composing jingles for television commercials . His title Jeans On for the Brutus Jeans brand became an unexpected global hit, leading the charts in Germany in December 1976 . The single also reached the top ten in other European countries , and in January 1977 it entered the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States .

His next single, Another Funny Honeymoon , was in the top ten in Germany and Austria , but could not repeat the success of its predecessor. As a result, Dundas worked as a composer of films and television series, 1986, he said, one of the roles in the animated film When the Wind Blows (When the Wind Blows) . In 1993 Die Kassierer published an interpretation of Jeans On under the title Dr. Martens . In 1999 Fatboy Slim used a sample from Jeans On for his track Sho Nuff , in 2002 Keith Urban recorded a cover version .

Dundas divorced his first wife in 1995 after 24 years and has been married for the second time since 1997, he has a total of three children.
