David Dunlop (born December 22, 1859 in Rhu , † September 3, 1931 in Prestwick ) was a British sailor from Scotland .

David Dunlop, of the Royal Clyde Yacht Club sailed, was in 1908 in London at the Olympic Games in the 12-meter class Olympic champion . In the regatta held on the Firth of Clyde in Scotland , only the two British boats Hera and Mouchette competed against each other in two races. The Hera , to whose crew Dunlop belonged, won both races, so that in addition to Dunlop and skipper Thomas Glen-Coats the other crew members John Aspin , John Buchanan , James Bunten , Arthur Downes , John Downes , John Mackenzie , Albert Martin and Gerald Tait die Gold medal received.
