David Horovitch

David Horovitch (born August 11, 1945 in London ) is a British actor . His best-known roles were that of Inspector Slack in Miss Marple from 1984 to 1992, as well as the role of Dr. Pavlov in 102 Dalmatians . Since 1972 he has appeared in more than 90 film and television productions.

Life

Horovitch is the son of Alice Mary, a schoolteacher, and Morris Horovitch, a nanny. He attended St. Christopher School, an independent boarding school, in Letchworth Garden City , Hertfordshire . This was followed by training at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London .

David Horovitch was married to Jane Elizabeth Gwynn Roberts from 1967 to 1985. From this marriage there were two children (Tom and Francis).

Career

Horovitch has played many roles in popular British television series over the past 40 years including: The New Avengers , The Prince Regent, Piece of Cake, Hold the Back Page, Bulman, Boon, Love Hurts , Westbeach, Just William, Drop the Dead Donkey, Peak Practice, Foyle's War, The Second Coming, Deceit and Casualty as well as starring in the little-noticed ITV detective show Bognor .

In 1984 he played the role of Inspector Slack for the BBC series Miss Marple . In 1990 he played the role of Commander Daniels in Poirot The Kidnapped Prime Minister by Agatha Christie .

He has appeared in feature films and television as Sergeant Maskell in An Unsuitable Job for a Woman , as a French scientist in The Dirty Dozen Part 3 - The Deadly Mission and as Dr. Pavlov seen in Disney's 102nd Dalmatians .

Horovitch also has numerous audio books, including the 2008 production of Jaroslav Hašek's The Adventures of the Good Soldier Schwejk , Joseph Conrad's The Secret Agent , and the 2015 production of The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro .
