David John Conner

David John Conner , KCVO (born April 6, 1947 in Erith , Kent , United Kingdom ) is a British Anglican Bishop. He has been Dean of Windsor since 1998 and was a military bishop (2001-2009). As Dean of Windsor, Conner is Registrar of the Order of the Garter and Chaplain to Elizabeth II.

Conner was educated at Exeter College, Oxford and St Stephen's House, Oxford. Christopher Pepys, Bishop of Buckingham , ordained him deacon at St Martin, Fenny Stratford on June 29, 1971. After spending a year in the Oxford Department of Education, he was at St Edward's School, Oxford from 1971 to 1980 and then in Winchester. At times was chaplain to the Bishop of Winchester.

From 1987 he was Vicar of Great St Mary's, the Church of the University of Cambridge and in 1994 he was appointed Bishop of Lynn , a suffragan bishop in the Diocese of Norwich, from George Leonard Carey , Archbishop of Canterbury , on February 2, 1994 at St Paul's Cathedral consecrated .

For many years, Conner has assisted in the selection of candidates for ordination and inspected theological colleges, courses, and programs. He has been the governor of many schools and colleges. He is an honorary member of Girton College, Cambridge .

Conner was named Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (KCVO) with the New Year Honors 2010 .
