David Jones

David Jones (born October 1965 in Dundee ) is a Scottish game developer and is known for Lemmings (1991), Grand Theft Auto (1997) and Grand Theft Auto 2 (1999).

Career

Jones founded the video game company DMA Design in Dundee , Scotland in 1988 , which he ran until 1999. His first game, Menace (1988), Blood Money (1989) and the games of the cult series Lemmings (1991-1994) appeared here. In 2002 Jones founded the Realtime Worlds studio , where he was the creative director for the games Crackdown and APB: All Points Bulletin . In 2004 Jones was a keynote speaker at the World Cyber ​​Games in San Francisco. Realtime Worlds was liquidated in 2010.

In 2012 Jones founded two new studios: Cloudgine should focus on cloud computing- based games, Reagent Games should work on Crackdown 3 together with Sumo Digital . In 2017, Cloudgine was bought by Epic Games , and Jones moved to Epic as "Director Cloud Strategy".
