David Krmpotich

David Matthew Krmpotich (born April 20, 1955 in Duluth , Minnesota ) is a retired American rower .

The 1.95 m tall David Krmpotich took eleventh place in the two-man without helmsman at the 1981 World Championships in Munich . The following year he rowed at the 1982 World Championships in Lucerne together with James Galgon and helmsman Jon Fish in two with helmsman ; the three Americans reached the A-final and finished sixth. At the 1983 World Championships in Duisburg , Galgon, Krmpotich and Fish rowed to twelfth place.

Only three years later, Krmpotich started again at world championships. 1986 in Nottingham the US started eighth in the cast Jonathan Kissick , John Smith , Thomas Kiefer , David Krmpotich, John Terwilliger , Edward Ives , Kevin Still , Andrew Sudduth and helmsman Mark Zembsch . The Australian eight won the title ahead of the boat from the Soviet Union and the boat from the United States. At the end of his rowing career, Krmpotich started at the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 in a four-man without a helmsman . Raoul Rodriguez , Thomas Bohrer , Richard Kennelly and David Krmpotich won the silver medal behind the boat from the GDR and in front of the boat from the FRG.
