David Lemaitre

David Tavolara Lemaitre (* 1985 in La Paz ) is a Bolivian singer and composer.

David Lemaitre was born in La Paz to a Bolivian engineer and a Chilean artist. From a young age he was directly connected to music and learned to play the guitar. His father, a music lover, forged many of David's influences by listening to Bolivian and Latin American folk music such as Mercedes Sosa and, at the time, an acclaimed psychedelic rock such as Pink Floyd , The Beatles and Cat Stevens . David Lemaitre received his primary and secondary education at a private school, the German School La Paz . There he learned the English and German language.

Career

In his early twenties, Lemaitre decided to tour Europe and, after graduating from high school in Bolivia, moved to Germany to study programming . His plans eventually changed.

In 2005 he founded the band SchulzeMeierLehmann in Freiburg im Breisgau . The three befriended band members managed to join the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg in Mannheim . SchulzeMeierLehmann separated three years later. Thanks to his contacts, Lemaitre continues to play in small bars, pubs and cafes with bands such as Get Well Soon and Chris Garneau , which gradually made him better known and years later he was able to sign a solo contract with the PIAS Recordings Germany label .

Lemaitre currently lives in Berlin .

Discography

His solo debut album by Latitude was released on April 19, 2013 . Lemaitre regards the genre of his album debut as "patient pop music", which mixes a devoted voice, acoustic arrangements with various folk sounds.
