societies

Mendes began his career in 1999 at Sparta Rotterdam. There he played 117 games and scored 8 goals. Apart from a short loan period at Ajax Amsterdam, he stayed in Rotterdam for five years before moving to NAC Breda. There he became a regular player and was on the field in 56 games. From 2006 to 2010, the 1.86 meter tall Mendes played at AZ Alkmaar, where he became champion of the Dutch Eredivisie under Louis van Gaal in 2009 .

In the summer of 2010 he was signed by FC Red Bull Salzburg from the Austrian Bundesliga . He immediately fought for a regular place, but was thrown back in winter due to a pubic bone inflammation. When he came back in the spring, he injured his ankle and had to undergo an operation. It should not be available to the Salzburgers until December 2011. After several other injuries, the club and the player agreed to terminate their contract early.
