David Sossenheimer (born June 21, 1996 in Erlenbach am Main ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career hall

In his youth, Sossenheimer played volleyball in his homeland in Lower Franconia for TV Mömlingen and won the German U14 championship here in 2009. In 2011 he reached 3rd place in the German U16 championship, also with his home club TV Mömlingen. In 2013 he became both German U18 and U20 champions with TSV Mühldorf. Since 2010, the outside attacker has also been part of the VCO Kempfenhausen junior team , with whom he played in the second Bundesliga in the 2013/14 season . Sossenheimer won the national cup in 2010, 2011 and 2012 with the Bavarian state selection, and also in the German national youth team. In 2013, Sossenheimer was also a member of the Bundesliga team Generali Haching with a second game right . After Hachinger's withdrawal, he switched to TV Bühl in 2014 , with whom he reached the DVV Cup final in 2016 . He then moved to the German runner-up VfB Friedrichshafen . Sossenheimer made his first appearances in the German national team in 2016. He won the DVV Cup with Friedrichshafen in the 2016/17 season and became German runner-up . In the next two seasons 2017/18 and 2018/19 there were more cup wins and Sossenheimer was again runner-up with Friedrichshafen. In 2018 Sossenheimer took part in the Nations League with the DVV selection . In 2019 he moved to the Polish club MKS Będzin .

Career Beach

Sossenheimer was also active in beach volleyball from 2010 to 2013. With Pablo Karnbaum he became German U17 champion in Bostalsee in 2012 . At the side of Leipzig's Niklas Rudolf , he was German U18 runner-up in 2013 and won the bronze medal at the U18 European Championship in Maladsetschna (Belarus).

Private

Sossenheimer's father Christian was the head coach of the women's Bundesliga club 1. VC Wiesbaden .
