Davide Malacarne (born July 11, 1987 in Feltre ) is a former Italian cyclist .

Athletic career

Davide Malacarne was first Italian junior champion in cyclo-cross racing in 2005 and shortly afterwards won the junior world championship in St. Wendel in Saarland .

Subsequently, Malacarne shifted its focus to the street . Later in the season he won the Trofeo Dorigo Porte and he was once third in the stage at the Trofeo Karlsberg . In 2006, Malacarne was successful in the U23 event of the Trofeo Matteotti and in the cross race Triveneto Gara di Caonada. At the Giro del Veneto he won a stage and was able to win the overall ranking. In the 2007 season he again won a part of the Giro del Veneto and the one-day race Giro della Valli Aretine .

In 2009 Malacarne received his first team contract, with Quick-Step Innergetic , where he drove for three years. The greatest success of his career was winning the fifth stage of the Tour of Catalonia in 2010 . In 2015 and 2016 he won a total of three team time trials with the Astana Pro Team . He also took part in large tours ten times between 2009 and 2016; his best placement was 39th at the Giro d'Italia 2014 . At the end of 2016 he ended his active cycling career.
