The Davis Bay is about 20 kilometers wide bay between Cape Cesney and Lewis Island at the Clarie Coast of the East Antarctic Wilke country .
It was discovered during the Australasian Antarctic Expedition (1911-1914) under the direction of the Australian polar explorer Douglas Mawson . It is named after the Australian navigator John King Davis (1884-1967), the captain of the ship Aurora on this research trip .
