The Dawa or Daua is a river in the Horn of Africa

The river has its source in the southern highlands of Ethiopia . It flows through the southeast of Ethiopia and forms part of the southern border between Ethiopia and Kenya and Somalia . At Doolow on the Somali border, the Dawa joins the Ganale to form the Jubba , which runs through southern Somalia into the Indian Ocean .
geology
As a relatively young erosion cycle, the lower Dawa Valley is comparatively wide with gently sloping sides of bare bedrock. Gold has been found in the section between the tributaries Awata and Kojowa. Geologists from the Texas Africa Exploration Co. found the titanium-bearing minerals rutile and ilmenite in 1958 .
