Dawn Ellerbe

Dawn Ellerbe (born April 3, 1974 in Islip , New York ) is a former American hammer thrower .

In 1999 she won the Pan American Games in Winnipeg and was tenth at the World Athletics Championships in Seville .

At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney she was seventh, and at the 2001 World Cup in Edmonton, she was eliminated from the qualification.

In 2003 she was fifth at the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo and failed in the preliminary round at the World Cup in Paris / Saint-Denis .

She was six times each US champion in hammer throw (1995-1997, 1999-2001) and US indoor champion in weight throwing (1996-2001). Starting for the University of South Carolina , she won the NCAA titles in hammer throw and weight throwing indoors in 1996 and 1997 .
