Dej Loaf (born April 8, 1991 in Detroit ; real name Deja Trimble ) is an American rapper and songwriter . She is under contract with the major label Columbia Records .

life and career

Dej Loaf was born Deja Trimble in Detroit, Michigan. She grew up in the eastern part of the city. As a child she heard music by 2Pac , Rakim and Miles Davis . She was only four years old at the time of her father's death. Loaf then began composing music at the age of nine. She graduated from Southeastern High School in 2009 and studied nursing at Saginaw Valley State University for three semesters .

In 2013 she released her first mixtape Just Do It . This is how she got the attention of the Detroit rapper SAYITAINTTONE. He signed her to his independent label IBGM .

In October 2014 she was signed by the major label Columbia Records . After signing her major deal, she released her second mixtape called Sell ​​Sole . She gained further attention on the song Detroit vs. Everybody from Eminem and as opening act for Nicki Minaj on their The Pinkprint Tour in North America.
