Detroit vs. Everybody ( English for " Detroit against all ") is a song by the American rapper Eminem , which he recorded with rappers Royce da 5'9 ″ , Big Sean , Danny Brown and Trick-Trick, as well as rapper Dej Loaf . The song is the fourth single from the compilation album Shady XV by Eminem's label Shady Records and was released on November 11, 2014. All of the artists involved in the song are from the city of Detroit .

Detroit vs. Everybody is a posse cut in which Eminem , Royce da 5'9 " , Big Sean and Danny Brown share life in Detroit and how they made it from their beginnings in the city to famous rappers while still proud of their hometown represent. Rapper Dej Loaf takes on the chorus, while Trick-Trick can be heard in the outro and announces a remix of the song with local rappers. The song title Detroit vs. Everybody is based on the fashion line of the same name.

The song was produced by the American music producer Statik Selektah together with Eminem. They used samples of the songs Funky Drummer by James Brown and Static on the Frequency by Peter Beveridge.
Music video
The Detroit vs. Everybody filmed music video , which premiered on January 23, 2015, was directed by Syndrome . The video has around 55 million views on YouTube (as of July 2020).
It's in black and white and shows the rappers rapping their text in various locations in wintry Detroit while showing buildings and landmarks around the city, including Ford Field and Comerica Park . Royce da 5'9 "and Dej Loaf stand on the roofs of houses, while Big Sean and Danny Brown are in shabby buildings. Eminem raps his verse partly in a building and partly outside, on a street.

Cover design
The single cover is kept simple and shows the gray title Detroit -VS- Everybody , as it is on clothing from the clothing line of the same name. At the top of the picture there is also the silver lettering Shady XV . The background is dark gray.
Chart successes
Detroit vs. Everybody reached # 8 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 singles in the United States, narrowly missing the top 100 there. Even in the German-speaking countries, the song could not place in the charts.
Remix
In December 2014, a 16-minute remix version of the song was released, led by Trick-Trick , which featured numerous, lesser-known Detroit rappers, including Black Milk and Big Herk.
