Stepdad ( English for " stepfather ") is a song by the American rapper Eminem , which is included on the album Music to Be Murdered By and was released on January 17, 2020 unannounced.

content

The content of Stepdad revolves around a child who is physically and emotionally abused by his stepfather . The child saw the stepfather beat his mother at the age of six. It fears a psychosis in itself. When the dog pees on the carpet, the stepfather brutally kicks him, so that he has to be put to sleep.

The second stanza deals with the stepfather's behavior. Despite his calm appearance, the child is a ticking time bomb due to the abuse. It fantasizes about the murder of its stepfather, for example through poisoning with hydrogen cyanide .

In the last stanza the child is already in the fifth grade. It is already the bravest child and therefore has "bigger fish" to fry. At Christmas, it makes a plan to kill its stepfather. When he kicks the child on purpose, it cries out for its mother. The child runs into his room, where he is waiting with an aluminum baseball bat . It ultimately hits his stepfather's head with it. It continues to hit him with its fists until he dies. Ultimately, the child buries his stepfather next to his dog in the garden.

production
