Encore (English for. " Addition ") is a song by the US rapper Eminem , he along with rappers Dr. Dre and 50 cents . The song is the third single from his fifth studio album of the same name and was released on November 9, 2004 exclusively in the USA .

The song is a typical party song with a driving beat that is supposed to heat up the mood.

In the intro, 50 Cent names his three labels ( G-Unit ), Eminem ( Shady Records ) and Dr. Dre ( Aftermath Entertainment ). Then 50 Cent and Eminem rap the chorus together, which says you should dance and party today because nobody says goodbye without saying goodbye ( Encore is the last track on the album). In the first verse, Eminem announces Dr. Dre, who raps that he's back once more to set trends while others would only briefly stand on top and then disappear again. Eminem joins this and mocks the one-hit wonder , while his success continues to rise. The second verse is also given by Dr. Dre and Eminem rapped. The former heats up the party atmosphere and hands it out against his critics who think he would no longer do the hard rap that he did when he was an NWA member. Eminem speaks of the influence he has on youth as a white rapper and one of the most successful artists in music history. His music has helped break barriers between black and white youth and is a mouthpiece for angry teenagers. In the third verse, Dr. Dre and Eminem on the party which ends with the whole club being reduced to rubble. In the outro , Eminem announces Dr. Dr's next album Detox for 2006 (which has not yet been released) and thanks the audience.

Curtains Down (Skit)

After 5:13 minutes the beat of the song stops and you can hear Eminem returning to the stage. He says he almost forgot something and starts shooting the audience until all the screams stop. Then he shoots himself and you hear a robot voice that says: "See you in hell, fucker!"

This was often interpreted as an indication of a possible end to Eminem's career.

The beat of the song was created by Eminem's discoverer and producer Dr. Dre , who can also be heard on the track, produced in collaboration with Mark Batson. No samples from songs by other artists were used.

Cover design

The single cover shows Eminem in a suit and holding a pistol with a red flag with the black lettering BANG sticking out of the barrel . The background is kept white. In the upper part of the picture are the title Encore in white and the black lettering Performed by Eminem Feat. Dr. Dre & 50 Cent and Produced by: Dr. Dre on an orange background.

Awards

At the 2006 Grammy Awards , Encore was nominated for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group , but was defeated by The Black Eyed Peas' song Don't Phunk with My Heart .
