Devils Night received mostly average ratings from critics. The site Metacritic calculated from eleven reviews of English-language media an average of 58%.
- laut.de gave Devils Night four out of a possible five points. It is highlighted that Eminem clearly stands out from the other crew members:
“ You can hear Mr. Mathers in every second hook, as expected, and with his Skillz he raps the other D-12 members Kon Artis, Proof, Swift, Kuniva and Bizarre on the wall, but there is no too big a crack between them Superstar and his unknown colleague. Because they try to counter it with their flows and sometimes funny ideas. [...] In general, D-12 consistently continue the lyrical line of the two Eminem albums, which is mostly oozing with irony. [...] With the beats, however, no gimmicks are to be expected, it's very serious and straight to the point. "
- The taz website presents the album as provocative:
" With" Devil's Night "the" dirty dozen "from the Autostadt Detroit recorded a completely exaggerated gangster rap opus bursting with black humor. Even if "Devil's Night" is less self-reflective than Eminem's solo albums, one thing becomes immediately clear with D12: The "bad boy" image is calculated from the start. [...] Musically, D12, with the active help of Dr. Dre left the classic hip-hop scheme long ago. While they do rock crossovers (including a guitar solo) on songs like the aforementioned "Revelation", they integrate elements like harmonica (on the drug anthem "Purple Pills") and falsetto vocals on the rest of the album. "
