Music from and Inspired by the Motion Picture Southpaw is the soundtrack album for the film of the same name Southpaw . It was released on July 24, 2015 via the labels Shady Records and Interscope Records . The American rapper Eminem , who also acted as executive producer , is involved in many of the songs .

Participating artists

In addition to Eminem, who can be heard on four songs (two of which as part of Bad Meets Evil ), many other artists are represented on the soundtrack. The film composer James Horner , who was killed in a plane crash in June 2015 , contributed two pieces to the album. The singers Gwen Stefani and Liz Rodrigues and the R&B musician The Weeknd each appear on one song. The album also features rappers , including 50 Cent , Denaun Porter , Busta Rhymes , KXNG Crooked , Tech N9ne , The Notorious BIG , Action Bronson , Joey Badass and Logic, as well as the groups Slaughterhouse , PRhyme and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony .

Eminem served as executive producer on the soundtrack . He himself was involved in the productions of the instrumentals for Kings Never Die , This Corner , All I Think About and Phenomenal . Other beats come from various music producers , including Sean Combs , DJ Khalil , Luis Resto , Mr. Porter , Just Blaze and DJ Premier . James Horner also produced the album's intro and outro.

Eminem released the song Phenomenal as a single on June 2, 2015 . The song was placed at number 47 in the US charts for a week . The second single Kings Never Die , on which Eminem is supported by Gwen Stefani , was released on July 10th and reached position 80 on the US charts. Third, the track RNS was released by Slaughterhouse on July 17th, 2015.
