Bad Meets Evil (English. Bad meets Evil ) is an American rap duo from Detroit , which consists of Eminem and Royce da 5'9 " composed. Royce embodies "Bad", Eminem "Evil".

history

In 1997, Proof , at that time the manager of Royce da 5'9 ″, introduced the two rappers to each other. The chemistry between them was good and they recorded some songs together. One of these songs later appeared on Eminem's solo album The Slim Shady LP under the title "Bad Meets Evil" . In addition, the songs "Nuttin 'to Do", " Scary Movies ", " Rock City " and "She's the One", which are included on the bootleg album Eminem Is Back , were created during this time .

As Eminem's solo career became more and more successful, the duo separated in 2000. Royce da 5'9 ″ also tried to become successful as a solo artist - his debut album Rock City (version 2.0) , released in 2002 , for which Eminem was the executive producer, but flopped. In the same year he tried to get signed to Eminem's label Shady Records . But he did not want to take on new artists and refused Royce's request. When 50 Cent signed with Shady Records two weeks after the request , Royce took it as an insult and released some disstracks against Eminem. Eminem's group D12 responded with Disses in the direction of Royce da 5'9 "and his MIC Records. The beef went so far that there was an open confrontation between Royce and Proof, in the course of which firearms were also involved.

After a conversation between Proof and Royce, the dispute was settled and Royce also appeared after Proof's death in 2006 on the D12 mixtapes Return of the Dozen Vol. 1 and Return of the Dozen Vol. 2 . In 2010, Royce's group Slaughterhouse was signed to Shady Records. Shortly afterwards, Bad Meets Evil reunited when Royce wanted to have Eminem as a guest contribution for a song on his solo album. Based on this, eleven songs were created, which were released on June 14, 2011 as Hell: The Sequel . Royce called working on the extended play fun, not work: “We started hanging out again - he's not going anywhere - so we hung out in the studio. And then we just took a few pictures because we were both there and had the time. "

Even after Hell: The Sequel , songs by Eminem and Royce da 5'9 ″, such as Twerk Dat Pop That! (2014), Vegas (2014), Detroit vs. Everybody (2014), All I Think About (2015), Raw (2015), Caterpillar (2018), Not Alike (2018) or You Gon 'Learn (2020).
