Dean McDermott (born November 16, 1966 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian actor .

Life

Since beginning his acting career in 1986, McDermott has appeared in various television series and films. He starred as Doc Barlow in Kevin Costner's Western Open Range (2003) . His work includes more than 70 productions.

In 1997, McDermott was nominated for the supporting role in the dramatic television film Mothers and Daughters ( Lives of Girls & Women ) at the Gemini Award . Another nomination for this Canadian television award was in 2005 for the episode Saturday at the Tournament in the comedy series The Tournament for the ensemble cast.

From his first marriage in July 1993 to Mary Jo Eustace, McDermott has two children. Their son was born in October 1998. In July 2005, the two adopted a girl. The marriage to Eustace was divorced in February 2006 after twelve years together. Since May 7, 2006, McDermott is married to the American actress Tori Spelling , whom he met while filming Mind Over Murder (2006). Together they have five children, three sons (* 2007, 2012 and 2017) and two daughters (* 2008 and 2011).
