Mission Earth - They are among us is one of Star Trek -creator Gene Roddenberry conceived Canadian - American science fiction television series that brought it between 1997 and 2002 to 110 episodes. Roddenberry's widow Majel Barrett initiated the series' development based on the notes and notes of her husband, who died in 1991.

Around 2015, an alien species landed on earth that calls itself the Taelons . They have made contact with the people and are actively involved in the culture. They give people more advanced technology, fight hunger and disease in the human population. But not all earthly citizens blindly follow the promises of the so-called Companions : A resistance movement led by billionaire Jonathan Doors does not believe the good intentions of the Taelons and tries to uncover the real reasons for the arrival of the Taelons on earth.
season 1
Former police officer William Boone works as a double agent for the resistance movement, together with pilot Lili Marquette. Both are employed by the Companions , Boone as a so-called companion protector , for which he got a CVI (cyberviral implant), but this was manipulated by the doctor Belman, who also works for the resistance, in such a way that the motivational imperative is inactive and Boone thus his actions and Can make decisions without the influence of the Taelons. Boone only agreed to work as a companion protector after his wife was killed in a mysterious accident. He was recruited at Da'an's personal wishes and thus also became his bodyguard. Season 2 to 4
From the second season, the role of Boone as an important member of the resistance movement is taken over by Liam Kincaid. This is the "child" of companion protectors Beckett and Ha'gel, who descended the last of an ancient, Taelon-like species, the Kimera, which was however wiped out by the Taelons. As a result, Kincaid is not a pure human, but a hybrid of Kimera (30%) and human (70%). He also inherited the Shaqarava , an organ that enables its wearer to fire a concentrated burst of energy, from his father . Kincaid's childhood lasted only a few days, he was raised by the resistance and consequently belongs to it. In contrast to other people, Liam does not have a double helix, but 3 strands of DNA.
Season 5
In the fifth season, Liam Kincaid is believed to be dead. The central character of the series is now Renee Palmer. Their opponents are no longer the Taelons, but the Atavus, to whom the Taelons have mutated. The aggressive Atavus are led by Howlyn, who finds a supporter in Ronald Sandoval. This final season, some of the main characters from previous seasons, such as Boone, Zo'or and Kincaid, return for guest appearances.

A German version of the first season appeared under the name Gene Roddenberry's Earth Final Conflict - Season 1 on May 29, 2015. This release was announced by Pandastorm Pictures as codefree. The second season was released on DVD in Germany on September 18, 2015. Further publications have been announced for 2016. Season 3 was released on January 29, 2016. Season 4 was released on April 15, 2016. The publication of the 5th and final season threatens to fail in German-speaking countries due to the complicated licensing situation, as the publisher announced on February 4, 2019. Even after several years of searching, not all rights holders could yet be found.
