Frank R. Moore

Frank R. Moore (born 1946 in Bay de Verde , Newfoundland ) is a Canadian actor .

Life

Moore was born in the small port town of Bay de Verde in Conception Bay in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador .

Moore appeared on stage in a wide-ranging repertoire that included modern social comedies, socially critical plays by contemporary Canadian authors, but also musicals . For his performance in the musicals Tommy and Urinetown , he was nominated at the Dora Awards in the category Outstanding Performance by a Male in a Principal Role - Musical .

His theater work also included roles in the musicals Hair and Les Miserables , which he played at The Royal Alexandra Theater in Toronto . At the Winter Garden Theater in Toronto he played in the musical The Drowsy Chaperone with the lyrics by Bob Martin and Don McKellar and with the music of Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison .

At the Centaur Theater in Montreal , he appeared in the stage hit The Crackwalker by the Canadian writer Judith Thompson .

Moore starred in the world premieres of the Canadian playwright David French's Leaving Home , Creeps and Russell Hill , all of which were performed at the Tarragon Theater in Toronto .

His stage roles in recent years have been General in Olympia by Franz Molnar and The Old Man in Fool for Love by Sam Shepard . Moore played both roles at the Soulpepper Theater in Toronto. In 2008 he played the role of Mr Schultz in the musical Cabaret by Fred Ebb and John Kander at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival . In 2009 Moore starred in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot at the Birdland Theater in Toronto.

In 2009 he was also seen with the Great Canadian Theater Company in Ottawa in the play The Drawer Boy by Michael Healy .

From the 1970s, Moore was also seen in US and Canadian films and television productions. In 1976 he starred in the Canadian production The Far Shore, directed by Joyce Wieland .

At the Canadian Film Awards , he won a Best Supporting Acting award for his portrayal of the torn painter Tom for his role in The Far Shore .

He was nominated for the Gemini Award in the category Best Actor ( Best Actor ) for the TV series Twice in a Lifetime nominated.

Moore gained particular prominence as the US President's Chief of Staff, Hubble Urick in Earth: Final Conflict .

His numerous roles on television included Hans Frank in the Nuremberg miniseries and Donald Regan in the The Reagans miniseries . He has guest roles in Sue Thomas FBEye and The Eleventh Hour . He starred in the 2006 Canadian mini-series At the Hotel by Ken Finkleman in the recurring role of Frank Richards .
