Leni Parker

Leni Frances Parker (born November 5, 1966 in New Brunswick ) is a Canadian theater , film and television actress .

life and career

Parker, whose mother was a college professor , grew up in the town where she was born and later moved to Toronto where she studied drama at Concordia University . After completing three years of acting studies, she worked for ten years as a stage actress at the Pigeons International Theater. She played in the piece Blood on the Neck of the Cat ( Du sang sur le cou du chat ) by Rainer Werner Fassbinder and in Savage Love by Sam Shepard .

Parker has also appeared in numerous cinema and television films. Her first film role was in the Canadian film Horses in Winter in 1988 . Leading roles and important supporting roles in American and Canadian productions followed.

In 1994 she played the society lady Beatrice Kaufmann in the society satire Mrs. Parker and her vicious circle , in 1995 Corporal McDonald in Screamers and in 2000 Anya in Eisenstein . She had prominent supporting roles in 1994 in Seduction of the Sirens , in 1997 in The Assignment and in 2005 in Cool & Fool - My partner with the big snout .

Parker gained particular fame through her participation in the television series Earth: Final Conflict . She played there from 1997 to 2001 as the androgynous alien being Da'an in a total of 88 episodes.

Parker has received several awards for her theater work. She received in 1992 at the Theater Critics of Quebec awards the prize for best actress in a supporting role ( Best Supporting Actress ) for her role as La Bonne in the play Perdus dans les coquelicots . In 2007 she won the Mecca Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Albertine in Assorted Candies at the Centaur Theater in Montreal , Province of Quebec .
