Debbie Matenopoulos

Debbie Matenopoulos (born December 13, 1974 in Richmond , Virginia ) is an American journalist , talk show host and actress . Although she was born in the United States , she is of Greek descent, so her maiden name - after her grandmother - was Despina Matenopoulos . This name was later "Americanized" to Debbie.

Life

She first attended Virginia Commonwealth University for 2 years before moving to the "School of Journalism" at New York University . During this time she also worked for MTV . She rose continuously from cable management, starting as an internal employee and finally becoming story coordinator of the show UnFiltered .

In 1997 she became the co-host of Barbara Walters ' talk show The View , but left in 1999 . (Some sources claim she was fired.) That same year, she switched to the TV Guide Channel . In 2000 Debbie Lisa Swayzak played in the film Endsville , as well as a role in the film Angryman of 2001 . She also voiced her animated alter ego on Celebrity Deathmatch on MTV from 1999 to 2002 . From 2005 she hosted the show The Screening Room on the TV Guide Channel together with Ken Taylor .

On July 5, 2005, she married Jay Faires , the president and founder of Mammoth Records , an American record label.
