Deborah Steiner
Deborah Steiner (born June 27, 1960 ), also Deborah Tarn Steiner , is an American classical philologist .
Life
She grew up in England as the daughter of George and Zara Steiner and graduated from Harvard, Oxford and the University of California, Berkeley . She has been teaching as John Jay, Jr. Professor of the Greek and Latin Languages at Columbia University since 1994 .
Her research interests include Homeric poetry, the early symposium, choral dance in art and poetry, and the archaic fable.
