history

In 1121 Deinsberg was first mentioned as Tunsberg . The settlement was probably created due to the iron ore deposits in the vicinity. Ancient inscription stones in the vestibule of the church indicate that the Romans probably already mined here. And the castle, which is now lost, also points to the former importance of the place. On the other hand, traces of mining can still be found in the vicinity of the place; Most noticeable are slag heaps 250 m long and 153 m wide, which are overgrown with bushes and trees but cannot be overlooked. It is not known how long mining was carried out in Deinsberg; In the nearby Urtlgraben, iron was smelted in a raft furnace until 1834 .

In 1309 Deinsberg was named as a parish , the building of today's filial church Deinsberg , which was probably built at the end of the 13th century, appeared for the first time in a document in 1362. However, it is certain that the miners had their own church long before that , because in medieval records the Deinsberg church is repeatedly referred to as antiquissima (old, ancient). The parish was abolished in 1779, and Deinsberg has been a branch of the Guttaring parish since 1891 .

Since the formation of political communities in 1850, Deinsberg has been part of the Guttaring community. Deinsberg also forms a cadastral community of Guttaring with other localities .
