The Deipenbecke is a three kilometer long flowing water in Essen . It is a left and southeastern tributary of the Ruhr , which disappears in some places as a result of mining.

The Deipenbecke rises at an altitude of 163 m above sea level. NHN on the border between the city of Hattingen, which is part of the Ennepe-Ruhr district, in the east and the independent city of Essen in the west. Its source is in a field north of Breddestrasse .
It flows into the Ruhr on the left in Überruhr-Holthausen .
Catchment area
The catchment area of the Deipenbecke lies in the Ruhr valley and is drained through it via the Ruhr and the Rhine to the North Sea.
It borders
- in the east to the catchment area of the Elvenholzbach ,
- in the south at the Pieperbecke and
- in the north to that of the Altendorfer Bach ,
all of which drain into the Ruhr, some of which are piped underground.
