history
The Maersk Delft was ordered on March 12, 2003 and was launched on July 11, 2005 under hull number 1524 in the shipyard of the Samsung Shipyard in Geoje . The delivery to the Norfolkline took place in January 2006, the commissioning between Dunkerque and Dover on February 27, 2006. The ship belongs to the Mærsk D-class , which consists of three units .
On January 29, 2007 the ship suffered a failure of the engine system shortly after a stay in the shipyard off Dover. This was caused by a computer error. The ferry had to be towed back to Dover, but was able to resume service the following day.
In July 2010, the Norfolkline became the property of DFDS and thus disappeared from the market. The Maersk Delft was renamed Delft Seaways , but remained on its old route from Dover to Dunkerque.
