Demba Touré was loaned out for one year by Grasshopper Club Zürich (GC) in 2004 after he hardly had any match practice at Olympique Lyon . After the season, the striker could have returned to Lyon. But he preferred another season with the city of Zurich, and the lending business was extended for another year.

After a trip to the Ukrainian Dynamo Kiev , he played for GC again from July 2007 to January 2009, but then moved to the French second division at Stade Reims . The French were relegated to the third division at the end of the season. In November 2011 he moved to the Romanian club Astra Ploieşti on a free transfer .

After just two months, Touré's contract in Ploieşti was terminated at the end of 2012. He was without a club for a year before the Maltese first division club Valletta signed him in early 2013 . He missed defending his title with the reigning champions in the 2012/13 season . In the summer of 2013 he left the club for the new champions FC Birkirkara . There he was mostly used as a substitute and was loaned to league rival Tarxien Rainbows in January 2014 until the end of the season. He scored the rainbows with nine goals in twelve missions to keep up . After his return, he signed second division Pembroke Athleta in the summer of 2014 . In early 2015, he moved back to Naxxar Lions in the Premier League. At the end of the 2015/16 season , he was relegated with the Lions. Touré was without a club for six months before joining Għajnsielem FC on the island of Gozo in early 2017 . From January 2017 to June 2017 he played for the Żebbuġ Rangers in the First Division .
