Denis Andrejewitsch Nikischa ( Russian Денис Андреевич Никиша ; born August 7, 1995 in Qostanai ) is a Kazakh short tracker .

Career

Nikischa made her debut in Calgary in October 2012 in the Short Track World Cup and finished in 46th place over 500 m and 41st place over 1000 m. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he achieved 31st place over 1500 m and fifth place with the relay. In March 2014 he won the bronze medal over 500 m at the Short Track Junior World Championships in Erzurum . In the 2014/15 season he achieved his first top ten placement in the World Cup with fifth place over 1000 m in Izmir . As in the previous year, he won the bronze medal in the 500 m at the 2015 Junior World Championships in Osaka . His best result at the 2015 Short Track World Championships in Moscow was 18th place over 500 m. In the following year he won 32nd place over 1000 m, 12th place over 1500 m and in the all-around and sixth place over 500 m at the 2016 Short Track World Championships in Seoul . After finishing fourth at the beginning of the 2016/17 season over 500 m in Calgary, he came on the podium for the first time in the World Cup in Salt Lake City with third place in the relay. In the further course of the season he achieved second place over 500 m in Gangneung and won his first World Cup victory in Minsk over 500 m. He was also there third with the relay. At the 2017 Winter Universiade in Almaty , he won the bronze medal in the 500 m, 1000 m and the relay. His best placings at the 2017 World Championships in Rotterdam were 14th place over 500 m and sixth place with the relay. He finished the season in fourth place in the 500 m World Cup. In the following year he ran at the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang on the 24th place over 1500 m, on the 13th place over 500 m and on the sixth place with the relay and at the world championships in Montreal on the ninth place in the all-around. At the Winter Universiade 2019 in Krasnoyarsk , he finished fifth over 500 m and won the bronze medal with the relay.
