Dennis Grassow (born October 10, 1971 in Berlin ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Born and raised in Berlin, he moved to Munich at the age of 16, where he joined TSV 1860 Munich . He came to SpVgg Unterhaching via SpVgg Starnberg - through a merger in March 1992 - FC Starnberg .

After two seasons he rose to the 2nd Bundesliga in 1995 with SpVgg Unterhaching . After 51 appearances and two goals, he moved to season 1997/98 for FC Bayern Munich , whom he but without match practice - apart from the first-round DFB Cup tie at DJK Waldberg (16: 1) - left 1 December.

Now eligible to play for 1. FC Köln, he played eight games in the remaining season and had to move into the second division, in which he played 24 games.

From 1999 to 2004 he was part of the SpVgg Unterhaching team again and went through the divisions from Bundesliga (2 years) to Regionalliga Süd (1 year) before he was promoted in 2003. After the 2003/04 season he left the second division, played two years for the regional division SV Darmstadt 98 , before he spent his last three years - as team captain - at SSV Jahn Regensburg .

He started his first and last coaching position in the second half of the 2009/10 season as a B youth coach at TSV Gilching-Argelsried. In 2010 he was Günter Güttler's co-trainer at SpVgg Weiden .

Grassow, who completed an apprenticeship as a plumber, has been working as a caretaker in a retirement home in Taufkirchen since 2012 .
