Dennis Young

Sir Dennis Charles Young (* 1938 in London ) is a Papua New Guinean politician .

biography

Young began his political career with the election to the representative of the assembly house ( House of Assembly ), which in 1982 elected him for the first time as its speaker ( Speaker of Parliament ).

Between 1987 and 1992 he was again Speaker of Parliament and in this capacity after the sudden death of Sir Ignatius Kilage from December 31, 1989 to February 27, 1990 and again after the resignation of Sir Serei Eri on October 4, 1991 until November 11 1991 by virtue of office each acting Governor-General ( acting Governor General ) .

For his political merits he was beaten on December 31, 1998 to Knight Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George and has since been named "Sir".
