Denys Gaith
Denys Gaith also Dionysios Geith BC (born March 19, 1910 in Yabroud ( Syria ), † March 22, 1986 ) was Archbishop of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church of Homs in Syria.
Life
Denys Gaith was ordained as a religious priest of the Basilians of Saint John the Baptist ( abbreviation : BC) on September 8, 1937 . The Episcopal Assembly of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church elected him on August 19, 1971 to succeed Jean Bassoul as Archbishop of Homs. Archbishop Maximos V Hakim and the co-consecrators Archbishop Athanase Ah-Chaer BC and Archbishop Nicolas Hajj SDS donated to him on 12 September 1971, the episcopal ordination . He held office until his death, and was succeeded by Abraham Nehmé .
