Deodaat Delmonte

Deodaat Delmonte (March 1582 in Sint-Truiden , † November 24, 1644 in Antwerp ) was a Flemish architect , engineer , astronomer and painter .

Delmonte stayed in Italy from 1600 to 1608 , where he became friends with Peter Paul Rubens .

In 1608 he was registered as a master in the Antwerp guild book and became a member of the Guild of Luke . He entered the service of Philipp Ludwig and was ennobled by him . He was also employed as an engineer for the King of Spain .

Of his paintings, only one known Transfiguration of Christ is in the Antwerp Museum.
