Deolindo dos Santos (2018)

Deolindo dos Santos (born July 7, 1974 in Bobonaro , Portuguese Timor ) is an East Timorese lawyer.

Career

Santos graduated from Pattimura University Law School in Ambon, Indonesia . From 2000 he worked as a judicial officer. In 2007 he became one of the commissioners of the Comissão Nacional de Eleições (CNE). Until 2011 was Santos judge at the District Court of Dili .

On September 9, 2011, Santos became a judge at the Tribunal de Recurso de Timor-Leste , East Timor's highest court. On April 28, 2017, Santos was appointed President of the Tribunal de Recurso by President Taur Matan Ruak , who was in his last few weeks in office. As President of the Court of Appeal, Santos is also ex officio President of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary . Santos is the successor to Guilhermino da Silva , who resigned for health reasons.
