The department of San Antonio is located in the south of the Jujuy Province in northwest Argentina and is one of 16 administrative units in the province.

It borders the Department of Doctor Manuel Belgrano to the north, the Department of Palpalá to the east, the Department of El Carmen to the south and the province of Salta to the west .

The capital of the department is the eponymous San Antonio .
