The Mříč Depot II (also Hortfund II von Mříč ) is a depot find of the Early Bronze Age Aunjetitz culture from Mříč , a district of Křemže in Jihočeský kraj , Czech Republic . It dates between 2000 and 1800 BC. The depot is now in the South Bohemian Museum in Budweis .

Find history

The depot was discovered in September 1960 southeast of Mříč on the northern slope of the spur-like hill Dívčí Kámen above the confluence of the Křemžský potok with the Vltava . It was at a depth of 40-50 cm. Just a little to the south, another Aunjetitz culture depot was found in 1946 .

composition

The depot was placed in a ceramic vessel protected by a “roof” made of two stones. In the vessel were four bronze objects (a broken into two pieces Absatzbeil , the neck fragment of a further Absatzbeils and two low ribbed arm cuffs ) and at least 250 amber - pearls . The pearls have a lenticular cross-section and are of different sizes. The smallest have a thickness of 4 mm and a diameter of 6-7 mm, the largest are 22 mm thick and a diameter of 34 mm. Only the neck of the ceramic vessel is preserved.
