Die Leonhardifahrer is a German television film by Wolfgang F. Henschel from 2008 based on a script by Doris Jahn . It is the 66th episode of the crime series Der Bulle von Tölz with Ottfried Fischer as the main actor in the role of Chief Inspector Benno Berghammer. It was first broadcast on May 27, 2008 on ORF 1 .

action

A few days before the Tölzer Leonhardiffahrt , a burst water pipe made Benno Berghammer's mother's guesthouse uninhabitable. The commissioner was not aware that he should have turned off the water pipe to the outside in October because of the risk of frost. So far, his mother has always taken care of it, but she is on Mallorca . When the repair work begins, Berghammer is called to a crime scene. The victim is the 35-year-old teacher Uwe Binder; the cause of death is a shot in the heart.

Binder had a relationship with Tatjana Moosleitner for a good three months. He wanted to win over her less enthusiastic father and offered to fetch rosebud from the mountain. Franz Moosleitner finally took him on the tour and lent him his jacket because of the cold. He made a detour to the alpine hut belonging to the Gorschlueter family from Bochum, while Uwe Binder started picking. Shortly afterwards Moosleitner heard a shot. He hurried outside and found Binder dead.

Franz Moosleitner is convinced that the shot was actually aimed at him and that his servant Xaver Aufhauser was the culprit. He hates him because he is afraid he will be driven from the court. Aufhauser told Benno Berghammer that Franz Moosleitner had wanted to throw him off the farm for a long time, but that he had a document that guaranteed him a lifelong right to stay.

Inspector Nadine Richter finds out that Uwe Binder was married, which Tatjana Moosleitner didn't know about. According to his wife Karola Proske, she and her husband were no longer so close and lived separately.

According to Franz Moosleitner, Xaver Aufhauser will only live in Gorschlüters Dairy House while the house is being renovated. He couldn't give his servant a guest room because everything in Bad Tölz was booked up because of the upcoming Leonhardi trip. Benno Berghammer can convince himself of this, because when he was looking for a place to stay for himself, he was recommended the "Pension Resi" as a hot tip. Inevitably he asks his colleague, who is happy to take him in - but not immediately, she first wants to make her apartment “Benno-friendly”.

Pastoral advisor Maria Mittendorfer, who a year ago gave Benno Berghammer and his colleague Sabrina Lorenz active support in investigating the murder in the St. Ehrentraud monastery and was then transferred to Bolivia , has returned to Bad Tölz and moved into the rectory. You and the Commissioner fell in love at the time, but were separated by the transfer. In search of her, he meets Prelate Hinter in the church , who is desperately trying to calm Xaver Aufhauser, who begs the statue of St. Leonhard for forgiveness and cannot be approached. Berghammer picks up a projectile that fell out of Aufhauser's pocket and asks Hinter to call him immediately as soon as the man can be questioned again. Since Aufhauser later told the prelate that he had poached but missed, he decided not to inform the commissioner. Instead, he asks the unsuspecting policeman Schmidt to take Aufhauser to Gorschlüters Sennerhütte.

Benno Berghammer meets Maria Mittendorfer by chance at the Moosleitners' and learns that they are distant relatives of hers and that Xaver Aufhauser is an illegitimate child of Tatjana's great-grandfather. When she informs the inspector that she has organized a room for him in the rectory, he is delighted and tells his colleague off.

Policeman Schmidt is supposed to pick Aufhauser from the Sennerhütte, but the servant has disappeared. To be on the safe side, Franz Moosleitner receives a bulletproof vest and is not allowed to leave the house while Aufhauser is walking around freely.

Maria Mittendorfer informs Benno Berghammer by phone that Xaver Aufhauser is standing at the “10 Commandments Tree” in front of the church. When the commissioners arrive, he tearfully confesses that he shot Uwe Binder; actually it should have caught Franz Moosleitner. After the arrest, Maria Mittendorfer says goodbye to Benno Berghammer, who is a little disappointed because she is now staying at the women's monastery.

During the interrogation, Xaver Aufhauser stated that the reason for the act was that Franz Moosleitner wanted to drive him out of his little house and that he did not care about the right to stay. The ballistic examination of Aufhauser's hunting rifle and ammunition has shown that the murder was committed with this weapon; the fingerprints come exclusively from Xaver Aufhauser and Nadine Richter. The case appears to have been resolved, but Commissioner Berghammer is not satisfied; it's too easy for him.

When Franz Moosleitner finally sees his initial suspicions confirmed, he arranges for the renovation work to be continued according to the old plans. These are three years old and provide for a sauna landscape to be built in place of the discharge house. Moosleitner only initiated the renovation and the temporary evacuation of Xaver Aufhauser in order to provoke the servant to commit a crime, whereby - as can be read in the certificate - he forfeited his right to live. Moosleitner only had to make sure that his distinctive jacket changes hands at the right moment.

Tatjana Moosleitner, who overheard a conversation between the inspectors, confronts her father at gunpoint. He admits that he gave his jacket to Uwe Binder so that Xaver Aufhauser can shoot the wrong guy; He allegedly did not trust him to score. Nadine Richter and Benno Berghammer join in and prevent Tatjana Moosleitner from attempting to shoot her father. Franz Moosleitner is arrested for inciting and aiding and abetting murder.
