action

Alex chases a woman in his car and makes her stop. He then rapes and strangles her. The next evening he wants to go to a party with his friend Ricky, who seems a little mentally and socially retarded. However, a couple (Tom and Lisa) come into their workshop and ask them to repair the car. To thank them, they invite the two to a friend's private party, Gloria.

There are two other guests at the party (Howard and Glenda). The party turns out to be a meeting of some snobbish nouveau riche and Alex quickly realizes that the “posh party company” has invited them to amusement, while Ricky makes himself a mockery with his dancing and subsequent striptease. When Ricky gambled away all of his money afterwards, the situation escalated and Alex started to beat up the two men of the party party. When someone tries to attack him with a bottle, he pulls out his razor.

Alex ties Howard up and begins to humiliate and rape the women in the group. He also encourages Ricky to rape Gloria. However, Ricky is too "soft" to do it. The prisoners tried to escape or to alert the police several times, but without success. Later Cindy, another friend of the hostess, comes to visit. Alex pulls her into the house while Gloria tries to escape.

Ricky pursues Gloria and catches her in the garden. He promises Gloria not to hurt her because he fell in love with her. Gloria seduces him and they have sex in the garden. Meanwhile, Cindy is also humiliated by Alex, and he cuts her several times with the razor. Ricky, who has been under Alex's control so far, comes back into the house and asks Alex to stop, as they have had enough fun already. Thereupon Alex turns against Ricky and slits open his stomach. Tom uses this to get a pistol from a drawer in the next room. He shoots Alex and forcibly throws him onto the terrace. It turns out that the woman initially raped and killed was Tom's sister; Alex and Ricky were lured to the party to seek revenge. The party goers pass the gun around, and everyone except Gloria and Cindy shoots Alex once. Finally, Alex bleeds to death in the pool. They let his friend Ricky go at Gloria's request.

Reviews

Most internet reviews praise Hess' acting performance and the film's dense atmosphere. Because although almost the entire film takes place in the house, you will not let go of the insane Alex. The scenes of violence shown are relatively bloodless, but the psychological violence caused by the humiliation is shown to the viewer very well. The character Alex is very believable and convincing because Hess plays him in such a way that he has fun with his actions and does not hide it. The film doesn't make a clumsy distinction between good and bad. Because the supposed victims also show their dark side in the end. As a viewer, you can end up hating almost all the characters portrayed, as hardly any of them reveal humanity.

Other reviews accuse the film of being just a copy of The Last House on the Left and criticize the implausible twist at the end.
